About us
Maps have always held a special place in the human's soul, serving as a symbol of exploration, discovery, and connection. From the earliest hand-drawn charts to today's sophisticated digital renditions, maps have always represented our innate desire to understand and navigate the world around us. They chart the course of history, depicting not just geographical boundaries but also cultural and political shifts over time. The lines and contours of a map tell stories of adventure, migration, and the ever-evolving relationship between people and the land they inhabit.
Inspired by this rich heritage, we decided to create our own version of the USA, individual states, counties and cities- thus commanding the name for our shop - SNC - short for “State•Nation•County Wood Maps & Décor” as a unique tribute to our Homeland. Wood, a natural and enduring material, embodies the spirit of resilience and growth. Just as the forests have stood the test of time, our wooden maps symbolize the enduring legacy and timeless beauty of our country. Each piece is meticulously crafted, blending artistry and craftsmanship to capture the essence of the state's topography.
Creating these maps is an artistic endeavor and an expression of our patriotism. We are not striving to make it a perfectly precise geographical map, but rather a way to celebrate the land we call Home, to honor its history, and to foster a sense of pride and belonging among its residents.
In an era where digital screens dominate more and more, our wooden maps serve as a reminder of the tangible, tactile world and the importance of preserving our connection to it. They invite viewers to pause, reflect upon the endless connection of “Roots 2 Roads”. By using wood, we pay homage to the natural resources that have shaped our state's history and continue to sustain its communities.
Through our wooden maps, we aim to inspire a renewed appreciation for the land, encourage exploration, and celebrate the unique character of each and every state. It is our hope that these maps will become cherished keepsakes, inspiring viewers to explore the world around them while reconnecting with their roots.
